Fitoor has been in news from quite some time now. After a huge round of promotions the film has finally hit the screens today. Let’s see how it is.

The movie is basically an indian adaptation of the literary classic Great Expectations and revolves around the life of Noor (Aditya Roy Kapur), who is madly and deeply in love with the enchantress Firdaus(Kateina),

But Firdaus is a pawn in the hands of Begum (Tabu) who herself has suffered loss in love and is now using Firdaus to break Noor’s heart. What happens next in their love story forms the rest of the movie…

Positive points:

Katrina looks beautiful and Aditya’s body is chiseled and is too drool over. But it is only and only Tabu who steels the show with her performance and is the only saving grace of the film.

She is confident and so so pretty in every which way. The way all the songs have been shot needs a special mention.

Negative points:

The beautiful Kashmir and a love story, this formula that has been tried and tested a huge number of times before. So does Fitoor stand out of all those movies? Well, a big no here.

Fitoor is so slow that it tests your patience hugely. The story is so damn confusing and goes haywire from the first scene to the last. Also the film is nothing but a bore and has no such consistency.

Katrina needs hardcore acting classes while Aditya is here to show us nothing new. He is the same in all his movies.

Technical aspects:

Technically the film is strong. The movie is shot beautifully and the scenes of Kashmir are to die for. The cinematography as well as the editing is top-notch. Songs are amazing and shot wonderfully. Dialogues or just about ok.

Except for some well shot songs and Tabu’s performance, Fitoor is a waste of your precious time and money. Do not invest anything on it and pick some else this weekend. Rating : 2/5
