‘The Dirty Picture’ treatment
The treatment ‘The Dirty Picture’ was subject to by the censor board and the I and B ministry of banning it from being aired on prime time t.v. caused a heated debate to rise. The I & B ministry is now reviewing it’s rules on airing U/A and A rated films. Sources from this department have stated that movies with such ratings will not be screened during the day. A source from the I and B ministry stated, “”At a high-level meeting recently in the I & B Ministry it was decided that only films certified for universal exhibition would be screened during daytime on television. Films that are certified ‘A’ or ‘UA’ can only be screened post 11 pm.” If this decision follows through ‘The Dirty Picture’ will have paved the way for the broadcasting of A and U/A films on T.V.
