SC asks Govinda to apologize to the man for slapping him
The Supreme Court of India has asked Bollywood star Govinda to apologize unconditionally to a man named Santosh Roy for slapping him way back in 2008. “You are a big star, show us your big heart too,” said the court in its judgment today.
Santosh Roy filed a petition with the Bombay High Court against Govinda in 2008 alleging that he slapped him. However, the court cancelled the petition due to lack of evidence that shows Govinda slapped him with an intent of causing harm.
On Monday, Justice TS Thakur watched the mobile video clipping of Govinda slapping Santosh and stated that the issue must be resolved mutually in a cordial manner, and told Govinda to apologize. Adding further, the Justice suggested the Bollywood star not to show his heroism off the screen.
