Plagiarism allegations on Hrithik’s Mohenjo Daro
Looks like the Hrithik Roshan-starrer Mohenjo Daro has run into a major legal problem when popular TV director Akashaditya Lama alleged that the film’s director Ashutosh Gowatikar of plagiarism. Akashaditya alleged that he sent the script of Mohenjo Daro to Ashutosh way back in 2002, while he was working on Sunny Deol’s Gaddar as an assistant director.
However, Ashutosh returned the script within two days saying that he was not interested in making another period film after Lagaan. Akashaditya also said that he had registered the same script under the Copyrights Act with HRD Ministry in 2007 with the title Samrajya and later re-registered the same script as Mohenjo Daro in 2010.
Ashutosh is yet to respond to Akashaditya’s allegations. Meanwhile, Ashutosh’s legal team has denied the allegations calling them untrue.
