Here’s how Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra used Ladakh Monsoon to his advantage

The Bhaag Milka Bhaag director- Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, currently occupied with the shoot of his forthcoming film Mirziya, shot a portion of the film in Ladakh. Mirziya is a modern-day version of Mirza and Sahiba’s tragic love story. It stars Harshvardhan Kapoor as Mirza and Saiyami Kher as Sahiba. While shooting a sequence the weather changed completely and it started raining. Spokesperson adds, “Rakeysh, along with the unit had gone to shoot Mirziya when the weather was normal, but during the shoot, they experienced rains. Rakeysh used this opportunity to shoot Ladakh in the monsoon. People will see the region in a way they have not seen before — almost as if the director has tapped into the virgin locations of Ladakh in the rains and for the first time. It wasn’t an easy task to shoot, as the lights in the region remains for merely two hours in the day during monsoon and this made the shoot very difficult.”

Rakeysh adds, “I went back to shoot in Ladakh for Mirziya for the third time (after Bhaag Milkha Bhaag and the Athithi Devo Bhava ad with Aamir khan). For Mirzya, we went deeper into Ladhak where no film unit has gone before. The results are amazing and I can’t wait to see the edit.” After giving memorable films like Rang De Basanti and Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra is all geared up for his next- ‘Mirziya’
