Fresh trouble for Salman in black buck case
In a fresh shock to Bollywood star Salman Khan, the Rajasthan High Court bench on Wednesday decided to inspect the rifle and airgun allegedly used by the state during his alleged poaching of three chinkaras and one black buck in Jodhpur in 1998. Justice Nirmal Jeet Kaur ordered the authorities to produce the weapons in the court.
Yesterday, a hearing in the fresh petition moved by Salman challenging the 1 year sentence by a lower court in one of the three poaching cases against him took place in the court following Salman’s lawyers argument that the weapons seized were air-rifles and airguns which were not capable of killing animals.
On February 17, 2006, the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate sentenced Salman for 1 year and acquitted all the remaining accused.
