‘Force Awakens’ sets a new record
The seventh installment of the blockbuster franchise, Star Wars, was released amidst unprecedented buzz and sets new records with each passing day. As per the latest update, this gigantic film has become the fastest one to cross the $1 billion mark (nearly 6700 crores in terms of Indian currency) in just 12 days after its release at the global box office, surpassing the previous record set by the Universal’s Jurassic World which had reached this milestone in 13 days after its release.
The interesting point is, the film have not yet hit the screens in China which is the world’s second biggest movie market. With the film set to release on January 9th in China, the trade analysts are expecting the records which will set by this splendid film in the coming days. The movie has also set another global record by collecting $100 million (670 crores) in IMAX screenings in just 10 days of its run.
