Erotic thriller cleared with no cuts

It was earlier reported that Vikram Bhatt’s new erotic thriller, Love Games, had applied for an ‘A’ certificate but the examining committee of the Central Board of Film Certification wanted the director to cut a couple of love making scenes, certain words muted and also did not want the hero to be shown consuming drugs.

Mahesh believed these cuts would destroy the core value of the film. “They wanted 18 cuts, it was absurd as we had not even applied for a ‘U’ or ‘U/A’ certificate. In the digital era when everything is available online, some people watching a film within the purview of four walls were questioning the intelligence and maturity of an adult to view a film in the right perspective,” said Mukesh Bhatt, who along with co-producer Bhushan Kumar decided to file an appeal. The move paid off and the film was passed with an A certificate with no cuts.
