Censor Board knocks out violence scenes from ‘Drishyam’

Ajay Devgan’s forthcoming film ‘Drishyam’, co-staring Tabu and Shriya Saran, has been making headlines ever since it was announced. According to reports, the Censor Board has asked a scene where a woman is slapped during an interrogation to be removed from the film.

Interestingly, the same scene was allowed to be passed in the original Malayalam film and the recently released Tamil version. The Censor Board is strictly against any kind of scene or dialogue that depicts violence against women. Apart from the small visual cut, a few words in the dialogues have also been discarded.

Directed by Nishikant Kamat, this film is scheduled to release on July 31st, 2015. ‘Drishyam’ has created box office storm in the South and now this Ajay Devgn starrer is expected to mint decent collections at the box office.
