‘Bombay Velvet’ completes its censor formalities

The censor formalities of Anurag Kashyap’s ‘Bombay Velvet’ have been completed and the film has received an A certificate with some cuts.

According to reports, the Censor board has asked for a deletion of critical remarks made on women followed by the word Dhobi from a song featuring Anushka in the film. Anurag is set to meet the revising committee and will convince the board members to not give an A certificate to the film.

This film is based on historian Gyan Prakash’s book Mumbai Fables which narrates the story of how the city in 1960’s became a metropolis against the backdrop of love, greed, violence and jazz music. ‘Bombay Velvet’ stars Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma and Karan Johar in lead roles. The movie is slated to release on May 15, 2015.
