Are Bollywood audiences done with fake PR stunts?
Whenever a film approaches its release date, Bollywood filmmakers and stars kickstart a murky PR stunt of fake extramarital affairs and romantic relationships of the films’ lead stars. This is nothing but to create an instant hype for their films. The same happened in the case of the Friday releases, Fitoor and Sanam Re.
For the last one month, a lot has been said and promoted about the personal lives of the stars of Fitoor and Sanam Re. Incidentally, no star, on the record, denied or accepted those rumors. Yesterday, both the films released to disappointing critic reviews and a bad word of mouth. Both the films lacked a strong content and even the performances by the lead cast of these two films were below par.
Audiences who thronged the theaters with heavy expectations were highly disappointed. Isn’t it time for Bollywood to end its fake affairs stunts and invent a more genuine strategy to promote the films?
