Interview : Saif Ali Khan

Saif Ali Khan is probably one of the most sought after actors in Bollywood today and his latest release ‘Bullet Raja’ has opened to mixed reviews all over the country. In an exclusive interview to Bollywood3, Saif talks about his films, kids and future plans. Read on to see what the desi Nawab has to tell us all.

Q : What kind of feedback are you getting for Bullet Raja?

Frankly, the feedback so far has been mixed. While some of them have really liked the film, others did not.

Q : You have a very western persona and yet you pull off roles like Omkara and Bullett Raja. How do you do that?

Omkara was something I worked really hard on. I think I have grown as an actor now should be trying something new always. If I keep doing what comes to me easily, then everyone will get bored.

Q : What kind of preparation went in for your character, Raja Misra in Bullett Raja?

I think everything was very clear in Tigmanshu’s mind. I on my side decided about the clothes that a character like this would wear. I also had to make my walk and talk natural, which was the most difficult part.

Q : Everyone seems to be doing massy films. How different are you from each one of them?

I don’t really think about other people when I am doing a movie. I hate to be influenced by anybody else and play the part to the best of my ability.

Q : Did you have your producer’s instinct while working for a masala movie like this?

No! Not really. I don’t think I would ever make a movie like this.

Q : When compared to the other Khan’s, you have maintained a different league for yourself. Why is it so?

I don’t know. Every person has a different personality. The three Khans you are talking about have always been huge stars and are my seniors. I respect them and have learned a lot from them.

Q : Do you think Bullet Raja will reach the 100 crore mark?

No! I don’t think Bullett Raja will make a 100 crore. Not every movie is a 100 crore movie. This is a Tigmanshu Dhulia film, and he makes slightly artistic movies.

Q : As a producer, you have always faced success with your movies. Do you think you are a smart producer?

I don’t know. I think everyone wants to make good films. Luckily most of my films have clicked at the box office.

Q : How was it working with Sonakshi?

Sonakshi is a very down to earth and lovely person. I had an amazing time working with her.

Q : Now that your daughter is grown up and wants to enter movies. What would you suggest her?

Well, I would first ask her to lose some weight. I also want her to finish her education and then think about anything else.

With that we ended our highly engaging interview with Saif Ali Khan and wished him the best of luck for his future endeavors.
