Music Review : ‘Shaandaar’ – Fun and catchy album


Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt‘s ‘Shaandaar’ is certainly one of the most awaited films of the year and has been creating a huge buzz from quite some time now. Directed by Vikas Bahl, the music of the film is composed by Amit Trivedi. Let’s see how this music album turns out to be.

01Song 1: Shaam Shaandaar
Singers: Amit Trivedi
Analysis: The album kicks off in style with a fast paced foot tapping number ‘Shaam Shaandaar’. The song has quirky music with some catchy lyrics. Sung by Amit Trivedi, this number possesses a happy vibe and it will surely heat up the dance floors. Shahid steals the show with his crazy dance moves and makes this number an instant hit.

Song 2: Gulaabo03
Singers: Vishal Dadlani, Anusha Mani
Analysis: The next track in the album is ‘Gulabo’ which is yet another dance number. Sung by Vishal Dadlani and Anusha Mani, this number features a brilliant orchestration ably supported by some fast beats. This song will definitely catch on with the youth and will be a sure shot hit.

04Song 3: Nazdeekiyaan
Singers: Nikhil Paul George, Neeti Mohan
Analysis: The third song is a perfect romantic number ‘Nazdeekiyaan’, sung by Nikhil Paul George and Neeti Mohan. Amit’s tune is quite pleasant to hear and the lyrics are simple. Nikhil and Neeti do an excellent job and manage to convey the emotions beautifully. The on screen chemistry between Shahid and Alia will definitely be a treat for the audience.

Song 4: Senti Wali Mental05
Singers: Arijit Singh, Neeti Mohan, Swanand Kirkire, Amit Trivedi
Analysis: The penultimate song in the album is ‘Senti Wali Mental’, which is a fun number. This song is on the lines of those which are played during Sangeeth ceremonies. The lyrics penned by Amitabh Bhattacharya are quirky and amusing but the song does not create an impact on the listeners for a longer time.

02Song 5: Raitaa Phailgaya
Singers: Divya Kumar
Analysis: The last song in the album is Raitaa Phailgaya, which is all about destination weddings. The lyrics are pretty good and this number has an amazing beats that will surely be liked by everyone. Divya Kumar’s voice and the contemporary tempo throughout the song makes it a perfect number to shake your leg.

On the whole, Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt have a decent album in the form of ‘Shaandaar’, Shaam Shaandaar, Gulaabo and Nazdeekiyaan are our picks. Amit Trivedi has done a fantastic job with this album.Each track is different from the other and those looking for a refreshing music, will surely like Shaandaar’s album!
