Music Review : ‘Hero’ – Catchy and romantic album
‘Hero’ is Salman Khan’s second production venture post the highly successful ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ and it is the launch pad of star kids Sooraj Pancholi and Athiya Shetty. The film is directed by the talented Nihkil Advani and has music by Armaan Mallik, Jassi Katyal, Meet Bros Anjjan and Sachin-Jigar. This most awaited album has hit the stores now, and let’s see whether it lives up to its expectations or not.
Analysis: The album begins with the song ‘Main Hoon Hero Tera’ which can be rated as the best song of the album as the number has simple yet beautiful lyrics.This song clearly defines the relationship of the lead pair and will hit you instantly.The music is soothing and it seems this unconventionally beautiful song will become the love anthem of this year. Salman’s singing is the icing on the cake.
Analysis: Second song in the album is Yadaan Teriyaan. A romantic sad song, composed by Jassi Katyal might be one of the infinite lovers separation songs of Bollywood. The lyrics are meaningful, and depict a lot of pain in the story. Rahat does an awesome job with his singing as he perfectly brings out the pain of love with his soulful voice and makes this number work.
Analysis: Moving on, the third song in the album is Dance Ke Legend. Composed and sung by Meet Bros Anjjan, Dance Ke Legend sounds catchy and is a very peppy number. The music has all the elements to be a party chart buster. Female singers Bhoomi Trivedi and Sunaina Singh have also done a commendable job, making their presence felt with their energetic vocals.
Song 4: Khoya Khoya
Singers: Mohit Chauhan, Priya Panchal, Arpita Chakraborty, Tanishka Sanghvi
Next in the list is the song Khoya Khoya. Composed by Sachin-Jigar and sung by the happening Mohit Chauhan, this song is a breezy romantic number. Mohit takes this song to another level, with his soulful voice. Once again the lyrics are amazing, and this song has a fine use of melody which makes it even more lovable because of its feel.
Song 5: O Khuda
Singers: Amaal Mallik, Palak Muchhal
The talented Armaan Malik is back again with another interesting number called O Khuda. Composed and sung by Malik himself, the lyrics are pretty good and the use of classical instruments works well as this song has been given a contemporary feel with the latest musical instruments. Palak Muchchal’s innocent vocals is music to ears. Once again a true soulful rendition from Amaal Mallik.
Song 6: Jab We Met
Singers: Benny Dayal, Shalmali Kholgade, Divya Kumar, Jigar Saraiya
Coming to the last song of the album, ‘Jab We Met’ is a peppy, youthful and happy number that will make you tap your feet at once. Composed by Sachin Jigar, the song has an amazing mix of sounds that will be surely loved by everyone. Benny Dayal and Shalmali Kholgade’s voices are fresh and urban adding to the youthful flavour of the song.
On the whole, all the four composers in Hero have given their best and have come up with an album which will be loved by one and all. Main Hoon Hero Tera, Jab We Met, Yadaan Teriyaan are our picks. ‘Hero’ is a mixed bag filled with different genre of songs and is a perfect launch for Sooraj Pancholi and Athiya Shetty.
