Music Review : ABCD 2 – Youthful and foot trapping album

Choreographer turned director Romeo D’souza, is back with his upcoming flick ‘ABCD 2’. This dance drama features Varun Dhwan and Shraddha Kapoor in lead roles. The music of this film is composed by Sachin-Jigar. Let’s see how this music album turns out to be.

Song 1: ChunarChunar

Singers: Arijit Singh

This number is an emotionally driven track with powerful beats and starts off with a tribute to all mothers across the globe. The lyrics and the use of classical instruments works well. The track is unique as it does not follow one particular melody and has alternate high and low tunes which make it all the more interesting

Song 2: Sun Saathiya

Singers: Priya Saraiya, Divya Kumar

Sun saathiya is perhaps the album’s best song. It has got a mesmerizing tune and great vocals by singer Priya Saraiya and overall nice foot-tapping feel to it. Divya Kumar enters the song later and lends her ample support.

Song 3: Bezubaan Phir SeBezubaan-Phir-Se

Singers: Vishal Dadlani, Anushka Manchanda, Madhav Krishna

The top song of the original ABCD, Bezubaan, returns here in the form of Bezubaan Phir Se. But this time, it goes one level higher, as it has Vishal Dadlani, who shines big with his vocals. Anushka Manchanda brings in her fragile voice in the proceedings as well. However, the best part of the song is when we hear the traces
of the original song.

Song 4: Happy B’Day

Singers: Varun Dhawan, Sachin-Jigar

The next song in the album Happy B’Day is a party number with silly lyrics. The contemporary tempo of this song makes it a perfect number to shake your legs. Varun Dhawan gives the intro to the song before Sachin-Jigar and D.Soldierz enter the celebrations.

Song 5: Tattootatto

Singers: Shefali Alvares

Tattoo is one of the catchiest numbers of this album and it begins on a plain note. The contemporary tempo of this song makes it a perfect number to shake your legs. Sachin-Jigar has experimented a bit with the beats and tempo and the result is quite amazing.

Song 6: Naach Meri Jaan

Singers: Benny Dayal, Shalmali Kholgade, Siddharth Basrur, Rimi Nique

The next song in the album is ‘Naach Meri Jaan’ which is a fast number. Benny Dayal’s energetic voice and powerful chorus by Siddharth Basrur, Shalmali Kholgade and Rimi Nique makes it a high voltage dance number.

Song 7 : Vande MataramVande-Mataram

Singers: Daler Mehndi, Tanishka Sanghvi, Badshah, Divya Kumar

This is the last number and dance-based patriotic song that will be played in a crucial portion of the film. The song changes track every now and then, jumping from slow to fast. This hummable song is sung by Daler Mehndi, Anishka Sanghvi, Badshah and Divya Kumar and their voice gave it the much needed energy.

On the whole, Sachin-Jigar impresses yet again and gives a trendy and contemporary music for ‘ABCD 2’. The album is dominated by fast-beat numbers and will entertain the younger generation a lot. Chunar, ‘Bezubaan Phir Se’ and ‘Sun Saathiya’ are our picks and will be liked more when you watch them on screen.
